NAF "All Girls" STEM Academy

Our vision: To support young women interested in STEM careers.

A couple of important facts

  • Women only hold 24% of the STEM jobs
  • Women in STEM earn 35% more than women in Non-STEM related careers. The gender wage gap is smaller in the STEM field.
  • Women with STEM degrees are less likely to actually work in STEM careers and often work in Education and Healthcare.

At Edgewater HS we would like to trend against the norm. Our All-Girls STEM Academy is in its 3rd year.  We have over 50+ young women in the program.  What is special about the program?

  1.  The girls are cohorted in Technology, Engineering, and English Classes.
  2. Paid Internships are offered during the summer of their junior and senior

Girls interested in this program should apply for the EST- Engineering part of the magnet.
