NAF STEM Girls Cohort

Our vision: To support young women interested in STEM careers.

A couple of important facts

  • Women only hold 24% of the STEM jobs
  • Women in STEM earn 35% more than women in Non-STEM related careers. The gender wage gap is smaller in the STEM field.
  • Women with STEM degrees are less likely to actually work in STEM careers and often work in Education and Healthcare.

At Edgewater HS we would like to trend against the norm. We cohort some female students together for specific opportunities requested through local partners.

Once girls are accepted to the magnet, they can request placement in the NAF-All Girls Cohort for their foundational technology course.
