Orange County Public Schools created the SAFE Program in 1984. SAFE stands for Student Assistance and Family Empowerment Program. Their mission is to “provide a comprehensive range of prevention and intervention services for students and their families at the elementary and secondary schools in the District. The focus is based on students’ needs in the areas of alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, and violence prevention. A variety of curricula and programs are used to support that goal.” Not many children are exposed to drugs and violence at an early age, but there are some. These children are at risk. SAFE helps identify and reach these students so that they may develop to their full potential.
We are fortunate to have an amazing Student Services Social & Emotional Team!
