I hope each of you has enjoyed a wonderful summer filled with opportunities to relax, recharge, reconnect with loved ones, and create lasting memories. As we prepare to begin another exciting school year, I want you to know how much I am looking forward to welcoming our students and families back to campus.
While summer has provided time for rest, it has also been a season of preparation here at Edgewater. In July, the Florida Department of Education released school grades for the 2025-2026 school year, and I am proud to share that Edgewater once again earned a "B" school grade, finishing just two points shy of an "A." This achievement reflects the incredible dedication, perseverance, and teamwork of our students, teachers, staff, families, and community partners.
Over the last three years, Edgewater has earned school grades of B (2023-2024), A (2024-2025), and B (2025-2026). This record demonstrates a culture of sustained excellence that should make every Eagle proud. Together, we will continue building on that success as we strive to earn an "A" school grade during the 2026-2027 school year.
With just a few weeks remaining before students return, excitement is growing across our campus. We cannot wait to see our Eagles back where they belong!
A few important reminders:
Laptop Distribution for all grade levels will take place on July 28 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
If you are unable to attend Laptop Distribution, laptops will also be available for checkout during Eagle Landing.
Eagle Landing (Meet the Teacher Event) will be held on August 6 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Eagle Landing is one of my favorite events of the year because it gives students and families an opportunity to truly connect with our school community. You'll be able to explore clubs and organizations in the gymnasium, walk your schedule, meet your teachers, connect with your counselors, and learn more about the many opportunities available at Edgewater. Representatives from our School Advisory Council (SAC), PTSO, Edgewater Foundation, and 1952 Club will also be on hand to share how they support our students and help make Edgewater such a special place.
As you enjoy these final weeks of summer, take time to have a little more fun, make a few more memories, and cherish the moments with family and friends. We are eager to welcome you back and begin another year of learning, growth, and achievement together.
Thank you for being part of what makes Edgewater great.
