Principal's Message

Welcome To Edgewater High School!

Maybe it’s too much time at home. Maybe it’s too much social distancing. I find myself listening to the experts in briefings, local, state and national leaders in press conferences, watching the heroism of doctors and nurses and thinking they attended a high school, where their passion for what they do got started.
Yesterday, I was able to call and speak to a few seniors. Hearing their passion for the careers they want to pursue has me hopeful. The next Dr. Birx, Dr. Fauci, Admirals, Generals, Army Corps of Engineers, business leaders, doctors, mayors, governors, presidents are sitting in our schools right now! The models and simulations, the advice to distance or the orders stay at home, will come from our kids. And it’s not just Edgewater—it’s Jones, Evans, Winter Park, Boone, and the other 15 high schools in our school district.
I’ll be a senior citizen in a little over 20 years; right around the time that our current students will be distinguishing themselves as leaders/experts in their various fields. We should all be inspired by the immense potential of our Class of 2020 and underclassmen, and have confidence that they will have received the proper training, creativity, problem solving skills and motivation to lead our country and world through the next crisis.
COVID-19 has taught me one thing—never miss an opportunity to tell your kids you love them. And I love our kids!
Wishing you health and safety!
